Honey Villa

INFORMATION: The Honey Villa in Humpolec represents one of the most important modern buildings of the 20th century in the Highlands. Its author is the renowned architect Josef Gočár, who designed it in the 1930s for the entrepreneur Otakar Meda. It is located on a triangular plot and stands out for its elegant composition with a smooth façade, strip windows and distinctive horizontals. The villa served not only as a family residence, but also as a company headquarters, with the ground floor having an administrative function and the living floor offering an airy, light-flooded interior with a spacious living room, study and an overall modern layout. Although the living area is not directly adjacent to the garden, the large terraces and thoughtfully designed outdoor space - with a gazebo, pergolas and even a swimming pool - compensate for this lack. The construction was supervised by Gočár's assistant Josef Mach, while part of the interior was designed by his pupil Vladimír Maršal.
