Glassworks Tasice

INFORMATION: The Tasice Glassworks is considered by conservationists to be the most authentic historical glassworks in the Czech Republic and Central Europe. It was founded in 1796 and the buildings and production technologies from the end of the 19th century have been preserved in the glassworks. That is one of the reasons why in 1984 filmmakers chose it for the filming of the still popular series Sons and Daughters of Jakub the Glassmaker. Currently, the glassworks is operated as a glass museum and is a National Cultural Monument. Almost all areas of the site can be used for filming, including the immediate surroundings of the buildings, the courtyard and adjacent grounds, including a large meadow with ponds. The Glasshouse could have been attractive to filmmakers looking for glassmaking spaces and props, and generally industrial spaces surrounded by nature. There is a parking lot in front of the site for film crew parking as well as a fairly large area of the glassworks courtyard, or part of the adjacent meadow.

LOCATION: The glassworks is located in the local part of Tasice, near the village of Bělá, about 10 km from Ledec nad Sázavou, 25 km from Kutná Hora, 20 km from the D1 motorway (EX 56 Zruč nad Sázavou).

Audiovisual experience. Since 1990, several documentaries focusing on the monument have been filmed here (including the 2011 documentary series Rusty Beauty). In 2022, a small independent production company chose the glassworks to film a web series featuring a post-apocalyptic future.

The glassworks is located 12 km from Ledeč nad Sázavou
