Short text to the story: How silver was found on Křemešník

Characters.

The main character of the tale is a vain magpie who wanted to shine in front of the other magpies and wanted to have something that the others did not have. She found a glittering stone under her nest in the woods of Křemešnice, which she quickly flew to show to the goldsmith in Jihlava. She wanted to make a glittering chain of silver stones from the jeweller Mr Goldstein. The goldsmith tricked the magpie into telling him about the find.

As soon as he found out that the magpie had flown 13 miles from Křemešník, he began to make plans with the town hall to get rich. The town immediately went into a silver rush. The councillors of Jihlava immediately summoned a percussionist from Kutná Hora. The assays showed the presence of silver in abundance and mining began in Křemešník and its surroundings.

Thanks to the silver rush in Křemešník, the town and the townspeople became rich. The main hero was Goldstein, the goldsmith, and the vain magpie was left without glory and without a chain.
