The Vysočina Film Office at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival: Inspiration, networking and new projects

The Karlovy Vary International Film Festival is not only a celebration for film fans, but also a key meeting place for film professionals. Naturally, the Vysočina Film Office was there this year too.

We made the most of the three days of the festival. The highlight of our programme was meeting colleagues from other regional film offices. Sharing experiences, coordinating joint approaches and planning future collaboration once again confirmed to us just how important it is to pull together when it comes to supporting audiovisual production.

As well as networking, we took part in the Industry Programme. This gave us a unique opportunity to watch presentations of emerging international projects and get a sneak peek at films currently in production that are yet to hit the big screen.

The session dedicated to the future of the Czech film industry proved particularly valuable, with each of the key institutions delivering its own presentation:

The Czech Film Commission outlined the development of regional cooperation, representatives of the Association of Audiovisual Producers (APA) assessed the outlook for 2025, and the State Audiovisual Fund presented the latest developments, which are absolutely crucial for the growth of film production in the regions.
