Faust
Drama / Fantasy
Russia, 2011, 134 min
This film highlights human weaknesses and flaws and rediscovers Faust as a deeply human story. Loosely inspired by Goethe's story, Sokurov radically reinterprets the well-known myth of the soul being sold to the devil. Filled with poetic and harsh images, the film was also shot at the castle in Ledč nad Sázavou.
